The combined Optical Telescope element / Integrated Science instrument module (OTIS) is lifted out of the NASA’s Space Telescope Transporter for Air, Road and Sea (STTARS) container at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems’s facility in Redondo Beach, CA. Webb’s Spacecraft Element (SCE), that includes the sunshield and spacecraft bus, are pictured on the far left. The OTIS and the SCE represent the two major parts of the James Webb Space Telescope, and were brought together for the first time in 2018.
